You’ve been working hard all week so you deserve a special treat at the weekend. But, unfortunately, most weekends come and go in a blur of housework and shopping. It really shouldn’t be like this. With a little thought and planning, your free time you really can be exciting, and you can make the most of your weekends with very little effort – and without bankrupting yourself in the process.

A girls night in with your friends means you can wave goodbye to those mundane chores once in a while. After all, Friday nights are about having fun with friends. So if you’re looking to visit a hotel for a night, it makes sense to take your friends with you. From the moment you arrive you’ll not have to lift a finger – just maybe a glass every now and again. There’s probably no better way to unwind after a tough week at the office.

It’s a fab way of catching up and relaxing and it’s much less expensive than you might think. Hotels will often offer you a fantastic deal on a girls night in and they often throw in lot of extra goodies to keep you all entertained. Look for offers that include an evening meal – and discounts when you share a room. Many hotels have wonderful Spa facilities complete with a warm inviting swimming pool and poolside refreshment area. There are certainly worse ways to end a working day!  Always check when you make your booking as to what’s available to you during your stay, if only so you can remind everyone to remember their costume!

If you’d like a beauty treatment whilst you’re there, make sure the hotel can fit you in – and it’s worth asking if there’s a discount for a group of girls – that way you all enjoy a pampering session together and save money at the same time, too. Of course, you can always choose to simply lock yourselves away in your room for a real girls night in. Some hotels even leave complimentary fluffy robes in your room and even a selection of DVDs for you to watch in comfort.

An evening meal is often included in the price for a hotel girls night in. This can enjoyed in the hotel’s restaurant, usually over three courses or, more popularly, delivered to your room. Many hotels are innovating when it comes to planning menus for girl’s nights in, especially as they realise how girls love to get together to chat! Often there just isn’t enough time to put on the make-up and decide what to wear, so instead why not life easier and just enjoy an informal supper in your room – it cuts out the need to get dressed, girls! This might consist of nibbles and snacks, sharing platters or something along the lines of a Mediterranean style buffet. And of course you’ll be served as much wine or spirits (soft drinks, too) as you wish.

All in all, a good old fashioned girls night in at a hotel with your favourite friends can be a truly uplifting experience after the weekly drudgery of the nine to five. And whilst it won’t break the bank if you do your homework properly – it might just break the boredom.

If we’re being honest, for most of us it’s true to say that we don’t consider mum as often as we should. She’s there for the good – and bad – in our lives,  and we only get one mum, so maybe it’s to give yours a break. So perhaps night away at a hotel could just be the perfect tonic as a thank you for everything she does? After all, she’s often the one who cooks and cleans and looks after the grandchildren – and you, too, especially when things go wrong. And for many mums it’s a thankless task. So a night in a hotel could be just what she needs for her to feel loved and appreciated again.

Make her feel extra special. Leave the chores and the routine behind for once and have some fun with your mum! And what better way to do so than with a relaxing girls night in a luxury hotel?

It’s worth doing a little planning before you take your mum away to make sure your break runs smoothly. Does she have any special dietary needs? Is she fully mobile or does she struggle with lots of stairs? When you make your reservation it’s worth asking for a ground floor room if this is the case to make life easier for you both.

If you opt for a hotel with a Spa you’ll both be able to indulge in some much-deserved pampering. Maybe you could surpise your mum with her favourite beauty treatment? You’d need to make sure the hotel you choose offers the treatment you want and it would be a good idea to book it when you make your initial reservation to make sure it’s available.

Or maybe your mum’s never visited a spa before. In which case you could maybe arrange for some taster sessions to give her an idea of what it’s all about. Many hotels offer a little selection for the first timer. Or perhaps a manicure would fit the bill, as a thank you for all those years of washing up. Then again, a massage might hit the spot, easing those sore back muscles after all those years of pushing the grandchildren in their prams up and down all those hills? Either way, there’s no reason why you too can’t lie back, close your eyes and indulge in a spot of rest and relaxation at the same time, knowing that someone else is chasing after the kids at home and taking the dog for a walk.

Planning your girls night in with your mum’s happiness and wellbeing in mind is definitely worth it. If she likes to get dressed up, but rarely gets the opportunity, you could arrange for dinner in the restaurant, making sure she’s packed her favourite dress and sparkly shoes – in which case it’d be best to pick a hotel with a quite formal restaurant known for excellent food.

Your girls night in with mum could open your eyes in unexpected ways. You might find out things about her you didn’t know before – and she you! With no distractions it’s a great opportunity to have some proper mum daughter time and you might even go home much closer than when you arrived.

The girls have been rallied and they’ve already packed their toothbrushes. The opportunity’s finally arrived for you to leave the washing up, ironing and dusting behind because a night with the girls is just around the corner and you probably can’t wait. There’s really nothing quite like stepping away from the rat race for a night in a hotel with your girl friends to make you feel young at heart again.

When you choose your destination, do make sure the hotel offers everything you might want for your girls night in. If you simply want a night away catching up over a formal dinner in a restaurant and a few drinks to boot then it’s probably preferable to look for a small, intimate hotel that has an excellent reputation for fine food. But if you want an all singing all dancing night away with pampering beauty treatments, maybe a trip to the Jacuzzi and gym classes for you and all the girls, make sure the hotel has an adequate Spa with suitable facilities available to you. It’s sensible to book any treatments you intend to take advantage of when you make your initial reservation. That way, you won’t be disappointed when you get there. If the hotel has a pool, it’s best to check availability when you make your booking – and remember to tell the girls to bring their costumes.

Just because you’re travelling to a hotel with your friends, remember it shouldn’t mean you should feel like you have to be setting to stun. Pack your little black number by all means – you can put on the glamour and make an entrance if you wish, but lots of girls prefer to stay in their room and enjoy a simple night in. Many hotels understand that this is what a girlie break is most often about and so they positively encourage it. In such hotels, there’s usually a well thought out choice of food available so you can stay in your room and enjoy being waited on hand and foot. With tasty nibbles, big platters and informal suppers that have been created to be shared amongst friends, you most probably won’t want to get dressed at all for dinner. It’s a totally relaxing way to end a session of pampering in the Spa. And there’s more opportunity for a good girlie gossip – without interruption!

Many hotels also provide little bonuses to make your girls night in really special. Always check when you book as it could influence your choice of hotel. For film lovers, some hotels have a range of DVDs for you to choose from. Providing you can all agree on which one to watch, you can all relax in your room and enjoy a chick flick in real comfort. You may be offered complimentary bathrobes or taster beauty treatments, or maybe a free bottle of fizz, guaranteed to really get the party started from the minute you walk through the door.

Life can be hectic, running all over the place and trying to keep on top of it all that often the weeks just race by leaving us at risk of falling out of contact with our loved ones.

It’s an unfortunate situation when we can’t find the time to stay in touch to our girl friends, but these days it does appear to be a fact of our busy, stress filled lives that free time is getting scarcer and, when we do have any, we’re usually too tired to do anything with it. But our girl friends are the ones that make us laugh, help us to see the lighter side of things and generally make our world a happier place. Good ones are worth their weight in gold, so we really do need to make the effort to look after them.

Whilst it’s simple to stay in contact with a quick text or phone call, nothing will ever really replace a good old fashioned chin wag. So a night in a luxury hotel could be a wonderful way to rekindle a friendship, to catch up on each other’s lives, or simply to have to a long overdue laugh.

Getting together again can be like rolling back the years. A group of old school friends, work friends or maybe even the girl next door who shared your paddling pool when you were six and who’s been your best friend ever since. Whoever your friends are, they all deserve some special time and there’s no better way of enjoying that special time than escaping to a hotel and leaving your daily lives behind for a fun girl’s night in.

With no distractions or interruptions you’ll be able to focus on each other – and on having a wonderful time. Many hotels welcome groups of girls and offer all kinds of money saving packages and these hotels generally have a deep appreciation of what makes a great girls night in. Their aim is to make you feel at home and give you a great time with your friends. You may well find complimentary beauty products in your room, or a bottle of something cool and sparkling to get you in the mood.  Goodness knows, with the trials and tribulations of our busy working lives, for some of us it’s difficult enough to find the time to drag a brush through our hair, never mind apply luxury beauty products in the comfort of a fabulous hotel room, so think what it would be like to have the opportunity to do just that – and with your friends there, too.

We’ve all had Friday nights that were forgotten soon after – some with good reason, but a night away in a hotel with your friends is certain to remain in your memory for a long time.

And, of course, a girls night in a hotel does last a lot longer than your typical Friday night down the pub. And thank goodness it does, too, for the morning after you can continue your catch up over breakfast and, of course, you can make arrangements for your next escape together!

You’re looking forward to your well deserved break with the family – but you’d be forgiven for not looking forward to packing for it. But with a little thought and planning you can turn packing for your holiday into an effortless task – by eliminating the need to pack everything but the kitchen sink.

It’s sensible to take low maintenance clothes. Garments that are easily creased – or that you very rarely wear – should really stay in your wardrobe at home. You could always pack something a little dressier to make you feel special if you’re going to be visiting the hotel restaurant or eating out in the evening. But it’s probably not wise to take those six inch heels. There’s a time and a place – and a family holiday with the kids probably isn’t either.

If you’re visiting a seaside resort, remember swim suits and arm bands, beach towels and sun cream. And even if you’re expecting a heat wave, it’s a good idea to pack lightweight coats – after all, the good old British weather does occasionally catch us all out!

For all that sightseeing you might be planning; you’ll all need a pair of comfy shoes. And if you’re anticipating lots of walking – maybe a box of plasters just in case. And talking of medical supplies, it’s handy to pop in some medicine for the children. If they wake up in the middle of the night with a fever, at least you’ll be able to give them some comfort without pacing the corridors or donning your coat and trawling the streets for a 24 hour chemist.

Most hotels provide some complimentary toiletries these days, but if you’d like to take your own, consider buying small travel size bottles for your holiday as they take up less room. And when you’ve used up the contents, you can simply rinse out the bottles and re-fill them with your usual brand when you go on your next trip.

Some children are afraid of the dark – if this is true of your little ones then it’s a good idea to take a nightlight to set up next to their bed. And don’t forget their favourite teddybear. That way they’ll be able to get a good night’s sleep – and so will you!
Although a lot of hotels offer colouring books, crayons and other activities that their younger guests can enjoy quietly, they don’t take up much room in your suitcase and could be a godsend when you some time to yourself with no interruptions.

On the subject of your little ones, they can be prone to creating a mess at mealtimes, so if you’ve a small person who has a tendency to dribble, make sure you’ve packed enough extra clothing to allow for spillages.

Finally, if the children are getting under your feet whilst you try to pack – why not get them to help? Send them off to look for items you need. And if the thought of it puts the fear of God in you, don’t worry – if anything gets forgotten you can at least blame someone else!

A accommodation key card slips perfect into your wallet or pocket, there’s no awkward critical fob to fumble with, and in case you lose your card you don’t need to worry about anybody trying to break into your room.

The advantage inn key cards have over regular keys is that really should a stranger locate your card, it will probably be rendered useless once it is reported lost. A resort clerk requirements only to reprogram the card and issue another 1 to you. That can’t be carried out with a frequent key!

After you’ve had your supper, you possibly can go shopping at nearby shops, or it is possible to go fishing. The beach pier is open 24 hours a day, so it’s not a difficulty if you wish to watch the sunrise, after which go surfing in the morning.

However, lately the rumor is going around that inn key cards provide far more details than just a room number. A close friend tells us about a trip to Vegas, and how her companion advised her to hold onto her card after checkout. Our close friend was told that within the plastic of that card was an electronic strip with the holder’s personal information.

As for lodging, there is certainly something for everybody at Redondo Beach: you will find luxury resorts and charming, tiny motels and inns. But you’ll be able to be certain you’ll stay up from the evening: this is mainly because Brixton South Bay comes alive following sunset. You will have the ability to hear the best live music in town, and with some luck, you will be in a position to catch some genuinely well known rock band.

The Crown Plaza and Marina Hotel is one particular of the most well-known hotels in Redondo Beach. The resort could be found on the pacific coast, near King Harbor as well as the wonderful Redondo Municipal Pier. This inn captures the spirit of Redondo Beach to perfection, and you can have gorgeous views from the inn room.
